I'm a little behind...

My little girl has been sick, so I'm a little behind in my posts for the 30 for 30 challenge.  This is what I wore today.  It's a pretty simple look for a beautiful summer day.

The pink & white striped shirt is from Banana Republic, and the Navy Blue shorts are from Target.  The flip-flops are Flojo, and I can't remember where I bought them.

What I Wore

One of my favorite blogs for style advice and fashion is What I Wore by Jessica Quirk.  You should check it out!  She has a book coming out soon that I am so excited about!  It called What I Wore: Four Seasons, One Closet, Endless Recipes for Personal Style.

She is giving away 10 copies of her book.  Go to her blog to enter!

Trying to Remember

Sitting in my bedroom
Trying to remember -
Kindness, laughter
Sharing of thoughts
Listening, caring, loving -
Wondering what was becoming.
Sitting in my bedroom
Trying to remember -
Our friendship
Bearing a special place
Deep within my heart
Always there -
Never to depart
Sitting in my bedroom
Trying to remember -
Long nights together
Wanting to go on
Seemed to last forever
But too soon were gone.
Sitting in my bedroom
Trying to remember -
What we shared
The happy times
Longing to be together
Sitting in my bedroom
Trying to remember -
Why it ended
What went wrong
How could something so good
Suddenly be gone?
Sitting in my bedroom
Trying to remember.

30 for 30 Challenge

I've decided to join the masses in doing the 30 for 30 challenge created by Kendi from Kendi Everday.  I have always had an interest in fashion.  In high school I was called "Fashion Princess", and took Fashion Mechandising classes.  I was also the president of DECA, the business club which dealt in fashion.  My dream job was to be a Fashion Psychologist (think Stacy & Clinton from "What Not to Wear").

Now I'm a stay at home mom, with a not so perfect wardrobe.  I'm hoping that this challenge can help me to embrace my clothes, and come up with new and unexpected looks.  I'll be posting my clothing choices in a few days!  I can't wait to see what I come up with!

Believe

Believing in something
Means having hope
That your dreams will come true

Believing in something
Means never giving up
Even when it seems the world has given up on you

Believing in something
Means sacrificing everything
To have what is most important

Believing in something
Means losing yourself
In order to find happiness

By believing that all things are possible
Through faith, hope and love -
Our trials can be conquered
And our dreams will come true.
